Have a fondness for trees? So do nursery owners. They grow trees from seedlings to sell to customers. Owners oversee many aspects of the business, from managing staff to ordering supplies to responding to orders to hand-on work in the nursery. This work involves learning about plants and trees through science, horticulture, and forestry. It also requires people skills to interact with both employees and customers as well as business skills.

Meet Bill Sayward, a nursery owner at Itasca Greenhouse, Inc., as he describes his job and the education, training, and skills needed.
