MnSCU’s Anderson Celebrates Mentors and Career & Technical Education


Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is one of many state and national leaders to recognize February 2016 as Career and Technical Education Month. The acknowledgement of secondary and postsecondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs by the governor, the U.S. Senate and others serves as a reminder of the important work our educators do everyday to help students succeed in their college and career goals.

Anderson speaks about the success of MnSCU’s CTE students, remembers his mentors, and talks about the role CTE plays in our states education and economic systems.

Free Training Now Available for Residential Solar Inspectors

Interested in a clean energy career? What training is available in Minnesota?

As Teri mentioned in an earlier post, renewable energy growth is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). I read The Pew Charitable Trusts' recently-released report on "The Clean Energy Economy" and found some encouraging job-related information. It found that from 1997 to 2007, the clean energy job national growth rate was 9.1%, compared to a total job growth rate of 3.7%. According to Pew, "the clean energy economy is poised for explosive growth." Clean energy refers to energy from sources that are environmentally friendly, like wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal.
